FPPC Guidelines for Public Participation
 

Public Comment by Email / Mail / Fax

Written comments on agenda items should be submitted to the Commission no later than 12:00 p.m. the day before the meeting in order to afford the Commissioners adequate time to fully consider the comments. The agenda and related documents are posted on the FPPC website at www.fppc.ca.gov.
 

• Email: To make a comment regarding a recent or future commission action, please contact the Commission Assistant at CommAsst@fppc.ca.gov.
   
• Mail: To make a comment regarding a recent or future commission action, please mail to the Commission Assistant at 1102 Q Street, Suite 3050, Sacramento, CA, 95811.
   
• Fax: To make a comment regarding a recent or future commission action, please fax to the Commission Assistant at (916) 322-0886.
   

Materials submitted by the public regarding each agenda item will be made available at the meeting and on the website.

To make a comment during a commission meeting, you can dial in via telephone by using the instructions below or by using the Commission's public participation portal found at http://mediasite.fppc.ca.gov/.

1. Dial from your phone: (669) 444-9171; access code: 9856036268.
    
2. This will bring you into an online meeting room. You will be moved to a breakout room where you will be connected with an FPPC operator.  You will be prompted to unmute.  Dial *6.  The operator will ask which item number(s) you want to speak on.  
    
3. After speaking with the FPPC operator, you will be moved back into the online meeting room where you will be muted.  Please stay on the line. 
   
   
4. Please listen to the meeting to anticipate for the item number(s) in which you will be making your public comment.
   
   
5. When it is your turn to speak, you will be prompted to unmute. Please follow the directions to unmute (*6) then you may make your public comment.
   
   
6. Your time is limited to three minutes. You will receive a 30 second warning to the end of your time.
   
   
7. After you have made your public comment, you will be muted once again.  You may continue to listen from the online meeting room or you may hang up. 

• If you are queued to speak on a subsequent agenda item, please stay on the line and listen to the meeting to anticipate when to make your subsequent public comment.
• You will be prompted with instructions again (*6) when it is your turn to speak.
   

Persons who, due to a disability, need assistance in order to participate should contact the Commission Assistant at (916) 322-5745 (voice),  (916) 322-0886 (facsimile) or in writing. TTY/TDD and Speech-to-Speech users may dial 7-1-1 for the California Relay Service to submit comments on an agenda item or to request special accommodations for persons with disabilities. Please allow a reasonable period of time between the request and the meeting date.
