Form 700 Electronic Filing for an Agency's Internal Filers

The FPPC is pleased to continue its program to approve and certify electronic filing systems for Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700). Agencies that participated in an e-filing pilot program reported several benefits, such as lower administrative costs, more accurate reporting, and an increase in the number of statements filed on time.

The FPPC supports efforts to move from a paper-based reporting system to a more transparent electronic system. Electronic filing makes it easier for officials to comply with reporting obligations and provides the public with the information in a more accessible and consistent format.

The law requires the FPPC to approve all electronic filing systems in the state. Once an agency has a program developed, it must request approval by submitting an application and Agency Form to the FPPC and a certification fee of $1,000 payable to the Fair Political Practices Commission.

The application and related documents may be sent:

By Postal Mail

FPPC, Attn: E-filing Application, 1102 Q Street, Suite 3050, Sacramento, CA 95811

By Email

You may also submit the application and any questions you have to: systemsubmissions@fppc.ca.gov

Form 700 electronic filing systems will be approved by the FPPC on an agency basis, not based on the vendor.
